This painting was created at the Battle of the Brush 30, Cartoon Madness show in 80 minutes. Jeke Lagi and Sharifah Marsden were the artists who painted this Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse painting, and before the competition began, they said they were quite nervous.
In the end, they had one of the funniest description of their painting where they said they just found out that Mickey and Minnie mouse were actually Fijian and First Nations, so, they painted them in that manner. In fact, they were just kidding, however, some of the guests who attended the event actually believed the joke. Jeke is Fijian and Sharifah is First Nations from the Anishinaabe nation.
