Vancouver, British Columbia, August 2013 – Fragrant Wood Gallery is proud to present the recently discovered retrospective art work of Artist Raymond Chow. This Retrospective Art Exhibition which will take place on August 8th-31st, will be the first exhibition in 30 years displaying Chow’s prolific work which includes 50 original drawings that were created between 1960 and 1980.
Chow, a North American artist, has over 48 years of artistic experience and is a UBC graduate in Art Education & Piano from Toronto Royal Conservatory of music. His art has been featured in more than 13 galleries across Canada, Hawaii and the United States. Throughout his career, Chow has met many public figures and has been honored to have been commissioned to paint portraits of them. Some of his art subjects include American actor Clint Eastwood, global superstar singing duo Sonny and Cher and Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia. Demonstrating a unique style of exhibiting art, he often blends his music and paintings in performance pieces that capture the magical elegance of both art forms which he masters and manipulates beautifully.
In a private special opening reception ceremony on August 8th from 6:30-9:30 pm, Chow will speak briefly about his past artistic works and unveil a new body of art work that he has recently completed.
The public is warmly encouraged to immerse themselves in this month long exhibition which highlights the art that helped frame Raymond Chow as one of the most eclectic and important artists of modern times.
