“I’ve always considered myself lucky. I grew up in Michigan with a loving set of parents and a rambunctious younger brother. Early on, my dad’s creative talent rubbed off on me. As a kid I was always encouraged to pursue my creative ambitions, even when that meant trying to build a plane to fly to school in, or erecting a giant tree fort in the backyard. When I was in 5th grade I told my mom that I wanted to be an animator after a trip to Disney World in Florida. So it wasn’t a huge surprise that after finishing my bachelor’s degree in animation from the Creative Studies in Detroit, I headed out west to work in the movies before we could even throw my graduation party. I dove right in and learned from some truly amazing and talented people in the LA film business. Almost 7 years later, I married Melissa, the woman of my dreams, and together we traveled to Australia, New Zealand and finally to Canada, adding to my work experience along the way. We do our best to live life to its fullest and enjoy our great group of friends. Animation, movies, art and music have always been a passion of mine, and I feel blessed to be involved in them everyday.” – John Vassallo
